Our Staff

Producers Group Studios was incorporated and is energetically owned by two partners of 23 years, Steve Flanigan and Rusty Kern. They have worked together so long that discussions and on-set decisions are intuitive, and they serve their clients and projects with equal enthusiasm and professionalism.

Russell S. Kern - Producer / Director & Writer / Editor
As a Technical Journalism Major at Colorado State University, Rusty is a Quill & Scroll National Honor Society Scholarship Recipient, with 22 years in motion pictures & television ranging from Hollywood to Colorado. As Producer / Director he's received over 80 regional and national awards including "Best Commercial In State (Restaurants) & Best Banking Spot (National) before committing exclusively to long-form films and videos. Rusty has extensive management skills, specializing in practical breakdown, scheduling and budgets for feature and long-form films. He served three years as President of the Colorado Film & Video Association, largest in a ten-state region and has produced, directed or written three films and hundreds of industrials and commercials.

Steve Flanigan - Producer / Director of Photography
With a B. A. at North Texas State University, Steve is recognized by SMPTE, a member of the Lighting Directors Association of Canada and founding president of the Media Producers Guild. He has received over 50 awards in cinematography, aerial photography, lighting and production of commercials, industrials and feature films. Steve's production management skills include the management of PGS Overseas
Operations. Some of these diverse locations are Israel, Turkey, Egypt and Mexico. His ongoing domestic production management, breakdowns, budgeting, and crew logistics has him lecturing on the subject at many Universities.
